- Caladium is a genus in the family of Araceae. They are often known by the common name elephant ear (which they share with the closely related genera Alocasia, Colocasia, and Xanthosoma), Heart of Jesus and Angel Wings.
- These are used both as bedding and potted plants for display in the garden or on the porch/door steps/window spaces/ Office tables/pack tables or anywhere you feels it suits..
- Caladiums grow from bulbs and can be propagated by dividing the tubers. Simply plant the Bulbs in good fertile soil.. Be sure to pack the soil around the bulb as well ensure that the whole bulb making good contact with the soil.
- Be patient, as it will take 3-6 weeks for leaves to emerge. Water well and make sure the ground never becomes too hard and dry during the season.
- They required moderate watering during their growing season, Most varieties prefer partial to full shade. Water regularly and cautiously, keep the soil moist but don’t pour excess water or apply any chemical fertilizers/hormons trying to get them root or grow faster, may be cause them to rot.
